Your YouTube Channel
Why bother registering for your own YouTube Channel? If you find yourself using YouTube on more than an occasional basis, your own channel provides a simple, quick, and easy way to compile video resources for your own personal professional use, or for classroom or student use. With one click, save a video to your favorites or put it into a playlist. You can customize your channel to make as much - or as little - information visible as you like. Once your channel is set up, it's quicker and easier than embedding each video separately and, if you do want to embed, you will find all your videos in one location for ease of access.

- DPS109 staff have accounts set up already and you can subscribe without setting up a channel with your playlists.
- For personal YouTube accounts, you will need to first set up a Gmail account.
- Settings: Modify page content to show as little, or as much, as you like. There are are a number of privacy settings from which to choose.
- Settings for comments and who can view – discourage bad behavior and disable comments. If you want comments, link or embed the video on a blog where comments can be moderated. Do you really care what others think? Would thoughtless comments discourage your students? Flaming is too pervasive.
- Favorites: When viewing others' videos, click "Favorites" to add it to your channel page.
- Playlists: Organize your favorites and uploads into playlists for ease of viewing.
- Modify page set-up: For use in school, elimination of all external links is recommended since you have no control over the content students will find if they click a ling.
- Navigation: Use your YouTube Channel with students so they see the navigation .
